To see which councils are having elections, check Is my council having an election?

Not all councils are holding elections on Saturday, 9 September 2017.

To be certain where you are enrolled, you should verify your enrolled address.

Voting is compulsory for all people enrolled in areas where elections are being held and fines apply for not voting, so it is important that you know if you need to vote.

There is no absent voting at local council elections.

At pre-poll voting an elector can only vote at a pre-poll centre located within the council area in which they are enrolled.

On Election Day an elector can only vote at a polling place located within the council area, or ward, in which they are enrolled.
